Dear reader,

After Auckland, we headed towards Mt. Maunganui and spend the night in Hotel Armitage in Tauranga (www.hotelarmitage.co.nz). The night was rainy, hence, we didn’t come out before the morning. In the morning, the weather was getting better and we jumped in the Jaguar to continue our way, however, it was not that easy.

As was not known, a sport event like a bicycle racing was taking place next to the shore on that day, so, we were struggling to park our ‘relatively long’ car on a street anywhere close to the beach. I finally found the spot approx. 500m away from the ocean and it was good enough distance to take a walk. The weather was still improving when we reached the sand, so we turned left towards the hill, which is actually called Mount Maunganui. Since we didn’t have our swimming suits with us, and the car was parked far from the place, we decided to climb the mount instead of swimming. Unfortunately, we were short on time and had to choose one or the other.

After a long drive climbing was a bit hard for us, however, all of us made up to the top of the hill, where we found incredible scenic views. There is a round walk through the summit, so everyone can see all around the hill. Moreover, there were some paragliders, who was taking off and landing to the top of the hill. The thermal updrafts on the sunny side of the hill were good enough to keep them in the air and even allow them to climb over it. This is nice place to visit as single, couple or a big family. The spectacular views are worth to come and enjoy them.

While we were up there, the sun came out and the views are significantly changed. You can see the difference on the pictures attached, can’t you?

Sofia likes to take pictures in interesting places, so I can’t miss this one on this article. If you wish to take the same picture of yours, reach me out, I’ll point you to exact location.

On our way down, we realized that we are starving. The next meal we took in a beautiful Greek restaurant called Olve and Fig (www.oliveandfig.co.nz). I had a salad there, if I correctly remember, and my brother ordered some sort of stake. I can’t remember what girls ordered, however, the food, service interior and atmosphere in this place was so beautiful so we didn’t want to leave it. Unfortunately, I don’t have any ‘normal photo’ of this awesome interior, hence, I have nothing to post here. In this circumstances I encourage you to follow the link above to see more details.

When the food was finished, we took a walk to the car, as the next night was planned in a different place. Would you like to know where? Follow the blog… :))

To be continued…

Many thanks for reading,
