Feature for April: Hester Ullyart!
Hester is a UK born multi-disciplinary artist; an actor, writer, musician and maker based in Ōtautahi with an interest in narrative and mixed discipline experimentation. Original performance works include her award-winning poetry film I am all the rooms of the house (RADA/Home Manchester), music collaboration Notes on Migration (TinyFest) and plays Paragon Dreams (Hull Truck, last seen at the Auckland Writers Festival), and The Ballad of Paragon Station (*****Ed Fringe). Hester’s poems can be found in 1964 Mountain Culture Journal, Poetry Aotearoa Yearbook 2025, Catalyst, The Quick Brown Dog, A Fine Line and Fuego, among others. She hosts Common Ground spoken word sessions kā tūka toikupu in Ōhinehou Lyttelton. Her debut album The All Clear, is currently in production and due to be released this year.
