Mental Health Week – Riverlution Freedom Run

Report

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW), and the theme for 2025 is ‘Top Up Together’.

The idea is simple: connecting with others helps us bring the Five Ways to Wellbeing into everyday life. Research shows that when we do this together — through movement, volunteering, cultural practices, learning, or shared community events — the benefits are deeper and last longer.

That’s why this Thursday at 6pm we’re inviting you to a Freedom Run at Riverlution parkrun.

Freedom Runs are a little different:

🏃‍♀ They’re not timed, so no results
🏃‍♀ There are no marshals, so each person is responsible for themselves on the course.

🗓 Thursday | ⏰ 6pm

It’s a chance to move together, take notice of our beautiful pocket of Ōtautahi, and top up our wellbeing side by side.

“Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi.”
– “With your food basket and mine, the people will flourish.”
