Pō Talanoa: Made in the Pacific

Report

Join us for another Pō Talanoa: a social event that values connection, conversation, and shared learning 🤎
This time, we’re heading to Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū for a guided tour of Made in the Pacific: A Collection of Tāoga. This exhibition joins Pacific tāoga from the Canterbury Museum with contemporary works, creating a dialogue that transcends generations, and reflects the enduring strength and wisdom of Moana cultures.
We will be joined by Hatesa Seumanutafa, Head Curator of Māori, Pacific, and Indigenous Human Histories at Canterbury Museum, who will offer a deep understanding of the tāoga shared. We’re so lucky to have her!
As always, Pō Talanoa is about being together. After the tour, we’ll share kai and inu, making space to reflect, connect, and continue the talanoa.
Come with curiosity, come with pātai, and most importantly, come as you are. We can’t wait to meet you! ꩜

Brown Town is an Ōtautahi-based collective dedicated to weaving communities together. Our mission is to provide our communities with the opportunity to connect through creation, expression, and celebration. This event is for our Tangata Whenua & Tagata Moana whānau.
